Privacy Policy – Clapp (Music Visualiser)

The Clapp app operates on the principle of ‘minimum data access’ whilst ensuring the highest level of user experience. This policy explains which permissions are used and why, and how your data is protected.

1. Device Permissions and Data Processing

The following permissions are required for our app to perform its core functions. No data obtained through these permissions is stored or transferred to external servers:

• Microphone Access (RECORD_AUDIO): Used to create real-time visual effects by analysing the rhythm of the music. Audio data is processed on the device only momentarily; it is not recorded, stored or shared.
• Flash and Camera Hardware: Access is granted to the device’s flash hardware to activate “Ultra Strobe” and similar lighting effects. During this process, under no circumstances are photographs or videos taken, nor is any recording made.
• Internet and Network Access: This is used to enable the app to communicate with advertising services (AdMob) and perform basic performance analyses.

2. Screen Mirroring

Clapp supports screen mirroring so that you can display the visualiser’s feed on larger screens. This feature works by directing the user directly to the device’s own System Settings. During this process, the app does not scan the local network, does not monitor your network traffic, and does not directly manage data transfers between devices.

3. Advertisements and Third-Party Services

• Our app uses the Google AdMob platform to display adverts. Google AdMob may automatically process the following data in order to serve you relevant adverts:

  • Advertising ID

  • Device model and operating system information
  • IP address and app usage statistics

4. Data Storage and Security

Clapp does not store users’ audio or video data on its own servers. All artistic visualisation processes take place in real time on the device’s processor. Technical data (such as advertising IDs) is stored on secure servers provided by Google and protected in accordance with industry standards.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

6. User Rights

Users can disable microphone and flash permissions, reset their advertising IDs, or opt out of personalised ads at any time via the Android operating system settings.
