1) General
This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed and how it is protected when you use the Spam Blocker: Call & SMS application. The purpose of the application is to detect unwanted calls and SMS messages and filter them on the device.
2) Data we collect and process
The application processes the following data locally (on the device) solely to provide the spam blocking function:
Incoming call number (via the Call Filtering service)
Incoming SMS sender number and message content
Blocking records (only in the local history table)
Contact data (to exempt registered contacts from blocking)
No data is sent to the server. There is no cloud synchronisation. Your data is not sold or shared.
3) Why do we use the data?
To detect and block spam calls and SMS messages in real time.
To show the user a local history of blocked items.
To enable the user to manage their own block/whitelist.
4) App permissions and justifications
The app uses the following system roles and permissions:
READ_CONTACTS: To add numbers from the address book to the whitelist and distinguish safe numbers.
READ_SMS & RECEIVE_SMS: To process incoming messages for spam detection.
SEND_SMS: To enable you to send messages in the default SMS application mode.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To display blocking notifications instantly.
INTERNET: For AdMob advertisements and Google Play transactions.
Note: For full protection, the application must be set as the ‘Default SMS Application’ and ‘Call Filtering Service’.
5) Third-party services
The app uses Google Play Billing for non-personalised ads (Google AdMob) and secure payment transactions.
6) Data storage and deletion
All blocking records are stored only on the device. All local data is deleted when the app is uninstalled. No manual deletion process is required as no data is stored on the server.
